Unique Rooms

Huset Carmel offers 14 rooms, of which 13 are furnished in various unique designs. Each room has its own individual touch, theme and name. Ranging from a small, cosy room to the large family suite -  and all rooms you will want to return to again and again.

The Story of Huset Carmel

The story of the Carmel Mission House dates back to 1918, when the people within the Christian movement Indre Mission fell in love with an available site on the corner of Nørre Allé and Klosterport in the heart of Aarhus. There, they built a mission house, which was designed by architect L. Egefelt and contained four floors, each covering 400 square metres. The house opened its doors to the public in 1921 and at the time, the mission house was the venue in Aarhus that could accommodate the largest number of people.

From Mission House to Modern Culture Venue

In 2017, local entrepreneur Kenny Jess Brandt took over the property and established the cultural venue Hotel Carmel – and so in June 2018, a hotel, a restaurant and a salon saw the light of day in the unique building.
